Hi! My name is Hannah and I'm a programmer living in London.

I currently work as a Junior Developer at a leadership & management training company. My responsibilities include maintenance, improvement and development of the company's website, learning platform, and internal CRM platform.

Before starting to learn about coding, I was working in the mental health & wellbeing department of a London university. My role there was very varied and I was responsible for the day-to-day running of the department as well as being the first point of contact for all students.

In my spare time, I make linocut, collage and textile art, work on my side projects, and play videogames. I also like taking photos of interesting architecture, which you can see on my Instagram.

Skills
I chose to learn coding because I wanted to try something different that would make use of the skills I developed in my previous employment, and following some self-directed learning I decided that coding would be a great fit for me.

Since deciding to change career, I've been learning various aspects of front- and back-end engineering, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, React + Redux, Express, data science and database management with SQL. I completed IT Career Switch's full-stack coding course and passed Microsoft 98-383 with a score of 95% in 2022. You can see some of my projects here.

After my initial career in university mental health, learning to code taught me to think in a completely different way.
Communication
My communication skills are outstanding face-to-face, via email/live chat or by phone.
Experience
I'm extremely organised, thorough and have an excellent eye for detail and have tons of experience working in high-pressure environments.
Motivation
As well as completing my coding courses in 2021-22, I'm quick to pick up new skills, keep myself motivated and use my initiative to solve problems.
Flexibility
I'm good at seeing things from different perspectives and enjoy being challenged to approach problems creatively.
Soft skills
I'm a friendly, approachable person with years of experience working with people with complex needs.
